Xenosphere is a more experimental game than it may first seem, as the disclaimer on top of the page indicate. It shouldn't crash the game though if you're running it on Windows 10 or 11, that may be some system incompatibility problem?
If I can see your player.log in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Nifflas' Games\Xenosphere I could maybe pinpoint the cause of the crash?
Yeah, it's probably because Unity uses the operating system's video API to read the video, so Wine would need mp4/H.264 support. I'll make a Linux build one day if I get the time to allocate to learn installing and building on Linux. I've been unsuccessful the past times I tried some Linux distros (driver compatibility issues every time), but it might work on my new PC?
So damn good. I've played your games for a long time and used to find so many secrets. Anything hidden in this? I noticed no ufos in the highscore mode btw.
There are no secret areas in this one. But some really neat skips are possible in high score mode (especially when exploiting the pause momentum trick), and some whacky score names if you can come up with a way to get really high scores.
Edit: Then I accidentally uploaded Xenosphere on the Rhythm Doggo alpha page when I tried to fix it

The game itself is unpredictable, as I was playing a lot of cute, cool, amazing , and creative things happened. i was getting mad at the fraud "streamer" because she was talking too much. anyways amazing game and where is "the best part of the game" that the streamer was blocking it was not in highscores mode?
The game is very absurdist, so the events aren't meant to have an explanation or logic that maps to the real world. That said, there is an internal logic to the game.
Most buttons on the bottom row of the keyboard will work! No controller support unfortunately. Controls are left without description because.... shenanigans! (you'll find out). But yeah, space bar will work, and lots of other keys, they all do the same thing!

linux version would be cool, right now executing with wine makes the webcam a black box

High score mode is permanently unlocked after you've played through the game once, and is activated from the main menu right after you start the game
