A downloadable game for Windows

Important note to streamers (click to expand, mild spoiler) This game is up to in-game shenanigans involving the streams of the developers, so stream Xenosphere only if you're OK with that appearing in-game. If you want to play the game without the meta shenanigans, the "High Score" mode which unlocks after the first playthrough disables them.

Drift, spin, dash, and golf your way in a journey through interstellar glyph space.

Xenosphere is not terribly difficult, though not without challenge either. Note that the game doesn't have a save game feature as it's meant to be completed in a single 30-minute(ish) session.

An unlockable "high score" mode is also available if you want to test your skill.

Xenosphere also features highly adaptive algorithmic music using the integrated music software also featured in Uurnog, Ynglet, and Mystery Artifact.

That was trippy as all hell. Loved it.

came here from Streamanthe and absolutely loving the game

Thank you! Very happy to hear you like it! They're totally obliterating me in trivia over at the stream.

controls?

Most buttons on the bottom row of the keyboard will work! No controller support unfortunately. Controls are left without description because.... shenanigans! (you'll find out). But yeah, space bar will work, and lots of other keys, they all do the same thing!

Вау, очень хорошая игра, я рад что стримерша получила месть в ответ когда останавливала меня

I thought this was a online game with world chat but it was just a streamer. lol

(+1)

THAT. WAS. ABSOLUTELY FIRE!

Thank you :) So happy you enjoyed it!

awesome game :)

(+2)

this was so fucking cool to play thanks for making this awesome game

Just wanted to leave another comment. My previous comment I was lost and confused because I found this game a while back and only recently got to sit down and play it. Then the streamer happened and I closed the game. Thankfully someone replied to my comment telling me it part of the game so I gave the game another shot and I am very glad I did. This game is awesome. I will be recommending this game to everyone.

That's totally alright :) I'm glad you ended up having a good time with the game!

A solidly entertaining play, and a really neat concept.

very good idea, I play like 20 minnutes and I really enjoyed. but there is still need to add something to the game for improving the ejoyment, the competition is good for the start but the fun is less then competition. Maybe streamer can sabotate our play even more that or the troll guys can came to the chat and trol the stream. thoose feedback are just for the begining the game like 20 minute play time.

Or maybe you should add a pilot twist like we can sabotate the stream (chat, donates, camera e.g) with our mouse or idk bounce the ball to the edges and shake the game screen .

I am a little confused. I ran across this game a while back and finally got a chance to check it out. Got about 3 minutes in (long enough to get a grove and get a feel for the game) then streamer takeover and I am no longer playing the game at all?????

(2 edits)

No, you're still playing :) But you may not be completely in control over everything. But controlling the ball will be in your hands... well, mostly -ish!

Oh ok, makes sense now. I was like WTF is going on this game is either broken or I am missing something.

the most innovative golf-like platformer ive played in years

this is xenoblade 4

you should make a new chapter with different people

Why my pc is a potato?😭The game is always crash, when the "facecam" appears.

Why my pc is a potato?😭

(1 edit)

Weird, I wonder what's causing it. I can't reproduce it on my computer. If you in Windows press Win+R, and paste this in: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Nifflas' Games\Xenosphere it should open a folder containing the file Player.log

This file might contain info that can help me work out the cause of the crash. If you can send me the info in this file somehow, I could see if I can figure out what's causing it.

I think Unity uses the Windows API to play video though, and maybe differences in Windows versions/installations can cause this?

Also, this is a little bit of a stretch, but it's the only thing I can think of: If you have special audio settings with some kind of "focus mode", try disable that before you start the game? For one tester, a mode like that related to his bluetooth headset interfered with the game's video playback.

Thanks

Oh, Mr. Nifflas, I'd like to play it so much. Alas, no Windows around atm :/ Is a Mac and/or HTML5 port coming maybe, perhaps, please?

I'm sorry, I don't know how to port my adaptive music software to HTML5 and the web compatibility with one of the game's surprise features are so lacking I don't think it's an option right now.

I'd like to build for mac, but I'd need a mac to build it on (both because my adaptive music software and IL2CPP), and I can't afford one right now.

clumsy controls, no tutorial, and some video popped up after 5 minutes of gameplay...? gorgeous graphics, i'm just confused...

The game was complete as a game as a golf action game.
But this was a truly remarkable work in another way.
It was a magical work that made me feel like I was connected to a multidimensional world, meow!

Thank you! A tip: It's actually quite inspired by the movie "Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes" - if you enjoyed the recursive stuff in this game, you're very likely to have a good time with that too!

What a surprise, it is a Japanese movie! And I'm Japanese too, but I lived without knowing about this movie... I'm interested to see it, nya~!

(+1)

Yeah, wow, a lot of amazing and unique movies are coming from Japan!

This was lovely!
I hope that other guy is okay.

what the

10/10

ok thats really good

Loved this. Very smart little experience and one I have instantly shared everywhere I can to my friends.

Is there a place I can send a couple of quid?
I appreciate it's free and I'm also not made of money but I feel it deserves it (that I really enjoyed Ynglet and am sure I got that in a bundle for pennies.

Hey! Thank you so much for wanting to support us! Unfortunately I don't have it set up right now, but I'm going to look into making it an option for my next game. Keep an eye out for that!

This is genius I love it :D innovative and fun! Nifflas strikes again

Aw, thanks! It was so much fun to make!

Wich game editor did u use?

It looks unity

Yeah, it's Unity! Been using it for a decade or so now

Incredible, as usual. Thank you Nifflas <3

(+2)

Absolutely loved this.  Did not expect the twist and had a huge smile on my face when that happened.  Such a fantastic idea and really well executed all around

Thank you! It was super fun for us to make, and very new territory for me!

(+1)

Just played a session. Ultimately just a gimmick, but a bizarrely amusing one. The lack of gamepad controls is a bit surprising, but the game doesn't exactly have a complex control scheme, so it's not much work for me to map it to the right keyboard buttons.

(+2)

I was really hoping for a simple fun neon platformer, but the creativity here is above and beyond, the plot twists and story along with how the game is played is so unexpectedly amazing

(-3)

Liked the game but I wish there was an option to turn the streamer thing off. Absolutly annoying

(2 edits)

But there is such an option, called "High Score" mode, which unlocks after you've played through it one time.

(-1)

wouldve loved it before the "Story Mode" it really turned me away from the game wouldve loved to play it

(1 edit) (+1)

Many other seem to like what we did. But, there's no way to make a thing that every person ever likes, and that's OK. This is the game we wanted to make.

And that is okay and I support that I just wanted to comment my opinion.
I really like the game and I wish you luck with your next titles

Thank you :)

thats beautifull

(+2)

I expected fun platforming and adaptive music, and I got exactly that. But I wasn't expecting... this! It's so surprising, clever and fun. Well done, this was incredible.

I'm so glad you liked it!

Nifflas are you kidding me?? did not expect THAT at all and absolutely loved it!!! telling about this game to my friends asap

I'm glad you liked it! It was really fun to try to pull this off.

This is absolutely amazing!

It was weird but fun) It was like I was a trapped spirit in a game, but it's not horror. I want more ;-;

Yeah, I think we wanted to lean more into the territory of the absurd than the scary. I've always liked recursive shenanigans.

Increíble

very weir

(+1)

Seems fun

that was incredibly bizarre, but I can't say it wasn't fun and charming. Super interesting little game!

(1 edit) (+1)

Man you're a genius. I really loved Ynglet, this takes things to a whone new level !

Thank you for playing it!
